Dr. Baracy will be the guest speaker at our next SEPACS meeting, scheduled for Thursday evening, November 16th. Location will be announced when available.

SUSD Special Education Transition Specialist, Marlene Greenberg has announced that Arizona Vocational Rehabilitation will holding a session on Wednesday, November 8th, from 7-8 at Coronado High School Media Center. This state agency will be meeting with parents to explain the services they provide for people with disabilities.

Mark your calendars for the SUSD Special Education's College Night, to be held on Wednesday, January 17th, 2007 from 7-8:30pm. Ten Arizona colleges will be on hand to present information about their programs.

Time to pack up the kids and join the Apraxia Support Group Parents For a Fall Picnic in the Park!

We will be located near the playground.

Everyone is welcome. Just pack a picnic for your family, bring some blankets, chairs, whatever you think you will want! We are just going to hang out and have fun!

The families of children diagnosed with mental disorders are often left on their own to sort through a cacophony of conflicting advice.
Interested in making an impact in our state on standards in special education?

New guidelines, called National Instructional Materials Accessibility Standards (NIMAS) have been issued for all states.

Parent representation is essential to this process, and Raising Special Kids will appoint a parent leader to fill one position on Arizona’s state-level committee to guide this process. Meetings are held quarterly. Mileage reimbursement is available.
